Constructed by Granville Brothers Aircraft, the Gee Bee Model Z super Sportster. This aircraft was the predecessor of the Gee Bee R-1 and R-2, the aircraft won the Thompson Trophy Race, piloted by Lowell Richard Bayles, who was died due a fatal crash piloting this same aircraft
